Film: People’s Emergency Briefing (16)

The UK and the Isle of Man face a growing climate and nature emergency, which threatens all aspects of life, from national security to our food supply. Yet most of us have never been fully briefed and therefore struggle to understand what this means for our lives, our communities, our economy and our future. The Isle of Man is not immune from any of the effects of this emergency, and though small, we can lead by example and put pressure on larger Governments to drive the coordinated global action that people across the world are calling for. There is clear evidence that action now will strengthen our economy, resilience, and quality of life. This film aims to address our knowledge gap, in a clear, optimistic and non-political way, bringing us together to hear the evidence and discuss how we can respond – together with our MHKs. The film will be hosted by our friends at Manx Wildlife Trust and the Biosphere Youth Network, who will lead a Q&A discussion after the short 50 min film. Feedback: “I’ll be honest — I’m sceptical of climate doom-mongering… But this film is different. Really different…. Stark facts, yes. But also a genuine sense of agency and even optimism…” Film will start @ 7.15pm – doors open and refreshments from 6.45pm. Teas, coffees and locally made goodies will be free at this screening!
