SUMMARY:June Isle of Man Crown Green Bowling Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Isle of Man Bowling Festivals are held twice a year and ha
ve been described as an event every bowler should try at least once in the
ir lifetime.\n\nThe June contest was first held in 1921 and in 1969\, Sept

ut is equally as appealing to a wide range of crown green bowlers who enjo
 y the autumn week-long occasion.\n\nSince that first 1921 tournament\, the
Isle of Man has been a popular destination for thousands of crown green b

no less than 290 men's and ladies' tournaments held over that 106-year per
iod. Over the course of an event there are generally up to 11 competitions
\, ranging from the two Main individual handicap tournaments down to a Las
t Chance open\, with plenty going on between.\n\nThe competitions are held
on six greens – three of which are in Nobles Park\, along with two other
Douglas venues – the Villa and Finch Hill. A fourth site\, at nearby Oncha
n Park\, is also in the schedule. All the venues are within a four-mile ra
dius.\n\nDates for 2027 are June 21-25 and September 6-10\, fees and closi
ng dates for entries are indicated clearly on the entry forms\, which can
be downloaded and then sent to the organisers.\n\nAs always there will be
a selection of open competitions taking place on the island over the weeke
nds prior to and after both festivals.\n\nSource: Visit Isle of Man\, http
