SUMMARY:Ricky Tomlinson - Retirement My Ar*e (with Asa Murphy)
DESCRIPTION:Finish time not given: shown as one hour.\n\nJoin\nus for an i
ntimate and inspiring evening with one of Britain’s most\nrecognisable and
beloved entertainers. In this special event\, Ricky Tomlinson\nopens up a
bout the remarkable journey that shaped him—long before his rise to\ntelev
ision fame.\n\nRicky begins by reflecting on his early life\nin Liverpool:
  a childhood of working-class grit\, humour\, and resilience. He\nshares v
ivid stories of the city that raised him\, the jobs that shaped his\noutlo
ok\, and the strong community spirit that forged his character. From his\n
formative years as a plasterer to becoming an active trade unionist\, Rick
y\nspeaks candidly about the political convictions that led him to stand u
 p for\nworkers’ rights—passionately\, loudly\, and at great personal cost.
His moving\naccount of the 1970s building workers’ strike and the trials
that followed\nreveals the depth of his principles\, as well as the lifelo
ng impact of those\nturbulent years.\n\nWith his trademark warmth and wit\
, Ricky then\nguides audiences through his unexpected path into show busin
ess. From small\nroles and early struggles to his breakthrough as Bobby Gr
ant in Brookside \, he charts the twists of\nfate that eventually led him
to national fame. His tales from the set of The Royle Family \, where he b
ecame a\nhousehold name as the unforgettable Jim Royle\, are both hilariou
s and\nheartfelt. Ricky’s natural storytelling brings to life the friendsh
ips\,\nchallenges\, and creative magic that made the series one of Britain
’s most\ncherished sitcoms.\n\nThis special interview is hosted by writer
and\naward-winning performer Asa Murphy\, whose warm rapport and charismat
ic style\nbring out the very best in Ricky’s stories.\n\n“An Evening with
Ricky Tomlinson” is more than an autobiography—it’s a\ncelebration of hone
 sty\, humour\, and humanity.\n\nSource: VillaGaiety\, https://www.villagai
